Name: Cenote Apocalypse

Conditions: Perfect water conditions. Percolation can be bad in some areas. Noticeable flow.

Dive Objectives:

  1. Check established lines
  2. Explore any potential leads
Summary of results:
  1. Pushed the end of the line upstream. Installing line name “Salt shaker” for 400’.
  2. Off M/L laid line name “Downturn” to dead end at a depth of 17’. Total line 398’.
Possible follow up:
  1. There’s flow at the end of the ML upstream. Another dive will need to be conducted to double check possible leads.
Comments/observation: Line ended in ceiling crack at a depth of 80’. Flow is visible on the halocline above but small passage didn’t allow for further progress. There’s 2 distinct halocline at 66’ and 77’.

Name: Cenote Dos A’im

Conditions: Perfect water conditions. Percolation can be bad in some areas. Noticeable flow. This is the downstream part of Cenote Apocalypse.

Dive Objectives:
  1. Try to find the downstream of the cave and explore any possible leads.
Summary of results:
  1. The team found 700’ of downstream cave going E/SE. This is mostly small towards the end of the line. Percolation can be bad.
Possible follow up:
  1. The end of the line is open. There’s flow. The passage is small but decorated.
  2. A few SW/W leas need to be checked for exploration.
Comments/observation: The cave is covered with shells. Shallower side if compared to the upstream. There were 2 good size crocs at the surface of the water.
