Name: Yax Chen
Coordinate: WGS84 UTM 451245 2226084

Conditions: The water clarity in the Yax Chen basin was clear. The water condition in the downstream part of the cave was fair. Flow was noticeable. The downstream is heading NE/E in parallel with the coast line. There’s a fair amount of organic particles in suspension throughout the water column.

Dive Objectives:

  1. Check out right side of the 3rd T
  2. Scout for more cave in the same area
Summary of results:
  1. Added 350’ at the end of the 3rd T. Line name: “Nada”. The cave stops in shallow area.
  2. Other leads checked to the left of 3rd T. Went to GW’s wooden cloth pin lead and laid another 400’ of line looping back to the same line.
  3. Re-surveyed existing GW line from the wooden cloth pin to 3rd T.
Possible follow up:
  1. This is an interesting area with large undercut at the halocline. The end of the line needs to be checked out
