Name: Yax Chen
Coordinate: WGS84 UTM 451245 2226084
Conditions: The water clarity in the Yax Chen basin was exceptionally clear. The water condition in the downstream part of the cave was fair. Flow was noticeable. The downstream is heading NE/E in parallel with the coast line. There's a fair amount of organic particles in suspension throughout the water column.
Dive Objectives:
- Check out Gary Walten's downstream lines from Cenote Yax Chen.
- Try to establish shortest route to Cenote "Rojo"
Summary of results:
- Team found 4 t's and travelled left every times. Cenote "Rojo" is located between 1st & 2nd intersection.
- Followed 4th T to the end of Gary's line and added 649 ft of line heading NW.
- The first lead checked at the end of Gary's line dropped below the halocline at 55ft. The lead dead ended but there was a full skeleton of a crocodile there.
- The end of the line is open but small. There's a bit of flow coming from the NW. The area is interesting with big undercuts below 45 ft.
Comments/observation: Cenote "Rojo" had only a light touch of tannic water at the surface. The cave changes substantially as soon as it runs NW again.

- Drop safeties @ 3 K & 7 K & Arizona's jump
- Install jump ML to Arizona
- Safeties ok.
Possible follow up:
- Drop last safeties further on the Arizona line
Comments/observation: Scooter problems with Per #3 & #2. 1 flooded and the other had a loose magnet.
