Dive site
Name: Entrada Boca Paila
Conditions: There was quite some flow at the entrance. The boil was clearly visible from the surface. North wind was blowing. Visibility in the cave was good.
Dive Objectives:
- Explore upstream lead at SM# 106
- This was interesting exploration through big cave running W/SW. The team explored 1,700ft of cave.
- The cave at the end of the line is wide open.
- There's many more leads to check closer to the entrance
- Silt sampling would need collecting.
Comments/observation: The flow is always existent. There’s no doubt that this is a big cave. The flow is coming from the SW. There’s a lot of percolation but less than Entrada Caapechen. Cave is white bellow layer of brown organic matters. There is big but sporadic speleothems. Halocline is at 40’ near the entrance.
