MCEP/CINDAQ - -INAH and NAS Underwater Archeology Training in Mexico-

GUE divers in Q.Roo from PET (Proyecto Exploration Tulum), MCEP/CINDAQ joined together from June 3 to 6, 2010 to pursue training in underwater archeology. This survey program took place in Tulum under the guidance of INAH (Instituto Nacional de Antropologia y Historia) & NAS (Nautical Archeology Society). read more

MCEP/CINDAQ - Filming Project , March-April, 2010 Exploration Update

Over the last 10 days the team focused on video documenting part the Ox Bel Ha (Maya for “Three Path of Water”) cave system just south of Tulum. Ox Bel Ha is the largest underwater cave on the planet. read more

MCEP/CINDAQ - March , 2010 Exploration Update

On March 23,24,25, 2010, exploration continued in the Ox Bel Ha cave system revisiting some places of interest from past projects. Dives were made enterring Cenote Del Mar located very near the ocean and from the more remote Coca Ha cenote several kilometers inland.

JAPAN NATIONAL TELEVISION FEATURES M.C.E.P DIVERS

On March 12, 13 ,14 and 18, NHK (Japan National Broadcasting) shot video footage of the Ox Bel Ha cave system and conducted interviews with MCEP (Mexico Cave Exploration Project) divers as principal explorers of this, the world’s longest underwater cave system. read more

 

 

Baseline Temperature Monitoring continues

In the continued studies of subaqueous cave system evolution which had begun extensively in 2000, Dr. Christopher Werner joined with MCEP divers once again to deploy additional temperature sensors in the cave systems of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Dives were conducted on March 5th through 7th in the Ox Bel Ha and Ponderosa cave systems. These sites were a continuation of the extensive background data monitoring that resumed in September 2009 and three additional sensors were deployed during the long weekend. read more
